As we embark on 2024 a year which will be full of loved up couples standing in front of the people most close to their hearts and celebrating their love for each other, we’re looking back on the top 5 celebrity weddings of 2023 to make sure you don’t miss out on any of that stunning wedding inspiration.

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo

After finding fame on the popular T.V. series Made In Chelsea, our favourite couple Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo carried on entertaining us with their podcast NearlyWeds where they took us along for the ride as they planned their eagerly anticipated and oh so glamorous wedding. Now married, they continue to entertain us with their podcast NewlyWeds.

But what of their actual wedding? Well as you can imagine it was ‘just incredible’ says the bride Sophie who walked down the aisle in front of the couples nearest and dearest which included reality T.V. stars and members of the aristocracy. Her dress was a stunning long sleeved lace Emma Beaumont wedding gown and Sophie was followed down the aisle by her bridesmaids all in unique ivory white bridesmaid’s dresses epitomising that effortlessly beautiful vibe. Their sumptuous wedding at the Sotogrande’s grand neoclassical Villa Las Sirenas was an outdoor affair which saw the property decorated with a gorgeous flower wedding arch. The wedding itself was held in The Neptune Garden before the guests dined by a floodlit pool, their place name cards holding a small but ever so personal description of the guest which we think is just so thoughtful. For the evening reception Sophie changed into a slinky low backed satin gown perfect for dancing the night away with guests to DJ Alex Le Roux however the loved-up couple made an early getaway under a dazzling canopy of fireworks.

This wasn’t the couple’s first wedding; the couple tied the knot in London at the Chelsea registry office 3 weeks earlier than their Spanish nuptials in front of a smaller guest list and we are just in love with the styling. Sophie rocked an off the shoulder Vivienne Westwood short wedding dress known as the Mini Cora Cocotte corset wedding dress and chose to accessorise with a short Gigi & Olive wedding veil and the Sophia Webster Wifey for Lifey clutch bag. Both in sunglasses the pair epitomised the young, cool and chic vibe.

Sofia Richie & Elliot Grainge

The wedding of Lionel Richie’s daughter Sofia Richie and music executive Elliot Grainge was dubbed by many as ‘the royal wedding of 2023’. The star studded nuptials in the south of France saw guests treated to a weekend of celebrations at the iconic Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes. After their ever so romantic engagement in Hawaii just after sunset the couple worked with Banana Split (luxury wedding and event planners) over the course of a year to meticulously plan all the details of the magical weekend which included the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the after-party. Working with Madame Olivia Douchez of Chanel to create different but equally stunning gowns for each event Sofia described working with Chanel as ‘not only an honour but a true dream of mine’.  Working with Madame Olivia Douchez Sofia was able to add small heartfelt details to her beautiful lace halterneck wedding dress for example a blue embroidered S&E on the inside of the dress above her heart, a detail we truly love. If you aren’t lucky enough to have your wedding dress designed for you then embroidering small symbols and messages into your wedding dress is a beautiful way of creating your own one-of-a-kind dress which is ever so personal to you and your partner.

Sofia and Elliot’s wedding ceremony began at 6pm which meant the couple could enjoy a relaxed start to the day without the pressure of having to be ready that morning. Sofia explained how her, and her bridesmaids attended an 8am rehearsal in their pyjamas before heading for breakfast with all Sofia’s favourite food, which sounds like a perfect way to start you big day to us! On to the hair and makeup Sofia opted for a timeless clean and simple look throughout the weekend which perfectly complemented her Chanel dress. The bridesmaid’s black dresses all individually selected by the bridesmaids, the only request from Sofia that they be black and the stunning wedding flowers in an array of whites and creams all complemented the overall aesthetic of the stunning day. Sofia’s dad Lionel Richie walked her down the aisle to a live performance of ‘Until I Found You’ by Stephen Sanchez which was the start to an evening of live performances by Lionel Richie and The Good Charlotte along with cocktails, dinner and fireworks.

Olly Murs & Amelia Tank

Another couple that opted for a wedding weekend was Olly Murs and Amelia Tank. Known as Murs-Fest the weekend was filled with rides, food trucks and a live performance by Craig David. On the 380-acre Osea Island in the Blackwater Estuary is where Olly Murs and Amelia Tank said I do. The fun and love filled weekend began with a barbecue on the Friday night to welcome all their loved ones followed by the beautiful wedding ceremony on the Saturday. Amelia had Olly in tears as she walked down the aisle to join him at the alter in front of a heart shaped flower installation in a stunning lace wedding dress by Australian based bridal house Pallas Couture. Featuring a corseted bodice, thin straps and detachable sleeves, the look was completed with a floor length veil embroidered with “Olly and Ameila” and the date of the wedding. Whisking his new bride away in style Olly drove Amelia to their reception in a classic silver Porsche where the fun-loving couple had a personalised menu with options including scotch eggs, lasagne, apple crumble with ice cream and strawberry trifle. All this sounds absolutely delicious and is only possibly outdone by the wedding cake itself which included lemon curd sponge and red velvet with cherries! After the wedding breakfast Amelia changed into her second wedding dress for the evening of partying, a sparkly gown by Zoe Jervois.

But the merriment only lasted until 12pm ensuring guests were in top form for Sunday where the weekend was finished off in style with Murs-Fest. With funfair rides, live performances from Craig David and Olly himself and a McNugget food truck the happy couple and their guests had the time of their lives. Dressed in a Dissh white A-line mini dress, chunky black boots, a bespoke hand painted All Saints leather jacket reading “Just Married” and the date in pink letters and the second of our brides to showcase a Sophia Webster Wifey for Lifey bag Amelia looked effortlessly cool as she enjoyed the day with new husband Olly by her side. In fact, Murs-Fest was such a success Olly took to Instagram saying it’s something they should do every year.

Kayla Itsines and Jae Woodroffe

2023 was also the year which saw fitness entrepreneur Kayla Itsines tie the knot with her ‘best friend’ Jae Woodroffe in a backyard ceremony in Adelaide. The stunning outdoor ceremony took place at the couple’s home where they exchanged vows on a podium surrounded by beautiful floral displays as their friends and family looked on. Kayla looked simply beautiful in a sleek and simple but ever so stunning white wedding gown with a short train and low draped back and a long necklace falling between her shoulders with a letter W pendant, such a romantic nod to her new surname. Kayla’s new hubby Jae received a few comments on social media about his choice of white trainers at the alter however we say if it’s your style then rock it, your wedding should be personal to you. For the reception Kayla changed into a white beaded crop top and high-split maxi skirt, by the end of the evening, after partying the night away she swapped her heels for white trainers, what else from the famous fitness guru!

Both Kayla and Jae have been open about the fact that neither of them are the biggest fan of weddings in general so when it came to their big day the relaxed, casual, and fun vibe not only fit the beautiful couple perfectly but was definitely a wedding we’d have loved to have been at.

Chris Evans and Alba Baptista

In what we think is such a touching way to incorporate and honour both sides of the family Chris Evans and Alba Baptista had not one but two wedding ceremonies, one at a private home in Cape Cod in Chris’ home state of Massachusetts and one in Alba’s native Portugal. With guests having to sign NDAs and forfeiting their phones we don’t know all the specific details of the wedding days but one thing we do know is both private, intimate occasions will have been beautifully romantic. Although we don’t have all the gorgeous details to share with you and offer inspiration for your own up and coming weddings what we truly love about Chris and Alba’s wedding is the way they have incorporated both their families, it’s this personal touch which really resonates and is the inspiration were taking away with us.
