What is your favourite part about a wedding?

For a cake baker, the favorite part of planning a wedding is designing and creating the cake — that’s my moment to shine!

Planning is key !!

What is your top tip for making a wedding run smoothly?

Collaborating on the Vision – Sitting down with the couple to hear their love story, theme, and aesthetic. It’s fun to translate that into flavors, colors, and design ideas.

Sketching the Design – This is where creativity flows. Deciding on tiers, textures, sugar flowers, and other decorations feels like crafting edible art

What do you love about The Lawrence?

I love working with the Lawrence because it feels like being part of a creative team. The venue staff, planner, and I are all in sync, the setup flows perfectly — from the timing of delivery to finding the perfect display spot for the cake.

The Joy of a Smooth, Professional Partnership

A great venue team makes everything easier — from delivery logistics to setup support. I love building those relationships and knowing we’re all working together to make the day flawless.

Just one of the most professional venues I work with :)

What is one wedding trend you think is here to stay?

The trends vary from client to client no 2 are the same

But :-)

The “all white” cake is still classic, but more and more couples are choosing bold colours , novelty and ruffles

What makes you different from other suppliers?

Using colour gives the cake personality and allows it to tie in more strongly with the wedding palette or theme.

Why it’s lasting: Customisation is key in weddings now — couples want their cake to feel unique, not standard.

If you weren't doing this, what else do you think you would be doing?

If I wasn’t making cake I’m not sure what id be doing something creative possibly or working with people in a caring professional role.
