On Saturday 7th February 2026, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting the wedding of Nathan Moody and Red Allen at The Lawrence Hotel. The day brought together 34 of their closest friends and family for the ceremony, with 79 guests joining later in the evening for a lively and love-filled celebration.

Nathan and Red Story: So we met in 2017, and it all started when he messaged me online. He lived in Newcastle and I lived in Lancashire  I wouldn’t normally meet someone so far away, but I did, and we just got on like a house on fire. I knew straight away I was going to be with him. Around a

year later we were visiting Red’s family in Dubai and had a special date night just the two of us. He took me to a diamond shopping centre and said “pick whichever ring you want” so I did, lol. And then he proposed. I was still completely shocked even though I had only just picked my ring out, I still cried, I was just so shocked.

When it came to choosing a wedding venue, Nathan and Red knew they wanted something intimate, but with enough space for both families to come together comfortably, with guests travelling from Brighton, Newcastle, and their local Lancashire family. The moment they visited The Lawrence Hotel, everything just felt right. The décor was beautiful, the space was cosy and well presented, and the fact it was dog friendly was a huge bonus for them. They also loved that it had such great reviews  with Red running a busy salon in Colne, Lancashire, he had never heard a single bad word about the venue, which gave them total confidence it was the perfect place for their day.

Meeting Olivia confirmed everything. “She was great, we loved her vibe straight away,” they said. “She was a massive asset on the day and literally pulled it out of the bag. We couldn’t believe how much she did for us and how far she went to make sure everything was perfect.” They also highlighted how special it was that we recommended Vicki Harris to conduct their ceremony, which added a personal and meaningful touch to the day.

The morning of the wedding was filled with excitement as suppliers arrived and the venue began to come to life. Pure Elegance styled the rooms beautifully, with sage green accents, lanterns, fairy lights and soft winter detailing that created a warm and romantic atmosphere throughout.

At 1:30pm, the ceremony began. Red waited in the room with his closest attendants, including the couple’s beloved dogs Grayson and Jeff, making the moment feel even more personal and full of character. Nathan entered alongside his best man Ian, and the room was filled with emotion, laughter, and happy tears.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a drinks reception with beer, prosecco, and orange juice, followed by a confetti moment outside. Canapés were served while guests mingled, including sausage rolls, honey-stick sausages (a favourite of the guests), and fish and chips bites all going down a treat.

The wedding breakfast at 3pm was exactly what the couple had envisioned comforting, classic, and loved by all. Guests enjoyed carrot and coriander soup to start, followed by roast sirloin of beef with fondant potato, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, and red wine gravy. Children had their own menu, and desserts included forest berry crème brûlée or raspberry crush. Everything felt relaxed, homely, and full of atmosphere.

Speeches followed after the main course, bringing laughter, emotion, and heartfelt moments from Ian and the couple, before the evening celebrations began.

As the venue transformed for the evening, black linens were added, the DJ arrived, and guests returned ready to celebrate. A cake and donut display added a playful touch, while live illustration captured memories throughout the day. The couple shared their first dance with live singing, followed by a silent disco that kept the energy going late into the night. A late-night buffet of bacon and sausage sandwiches with fries was served  the perfect end to a full day of celebrating.

Reflecting on their wedding, Nathan and Red said: “We can truly say we have never felt so happy for such a long period of time in one day. I felt like a Cheshire cat the whole time. Being together after 9 years, it somehow brought us even closer, which I didn’t think was possible.”

They also shared some advice for future couples: “Don’t worry about the little things. I became groomzilla and it was a nightmare, but when the day arrived I couldn’t care less. What will be will be it’s out of your hands, so just enjoy it. The day goes so fast. Don’t get caught up in the small stuff, just enjoy every second. It should be the best day of your life  and for us, it absolutely was.”

At The Lawrence Hotel, it is always an honour to host weddings like Nathan and Red’s  days filled with love, laughter, personality, and unforgettable memories that last a lifetime.
